Blogger provides a limited stat counter of its own to tell you how many page views your blog gets, and to which entries. Selecting an additional stat counter from the many choices available doesn't have to overwhelm you. Once you decide on the best visitor counter for your Blogger site, you only need to install it to tell how many people visited your blog.

Decide what you want to know about the visitors that visit your blog. Some stat counters provide more information than others do, and may break it down differently.

Choose your stat counter based on the information it provides which matches your goals for tracking visitors. Some visitor tracking sites include Google Analytics, Statcounter and Site Meter but there are many more available.

Register an account with your preferred stat counter, as most require this to create the counter. This usually includes a user name, password and information about your blog.

Create your stat counter following the directions on the stat counter site. Creating your stat counter produces code to paste into your Blogspot account. Highlight and copy this code by pressing "Ctrl+A," then "Ctrl+C."

Open your Blogspot account home page, and click on "Design." You'll see the template layout with sections labeled "Add a Gadget." Click any of these links.

Scroll down the pop-up window to find "HTML/JavaScript" or search for this term in the search area at the upper right-hand corner. Click the "+" button to open the "Configure HTML/JavaScript" box.

Paste the stat counter code you copied into the "Content" text box, and press "Save." On the "Design" page click "Save" again to save the stat counter code to your blog.

Log into your stat counter website to view the visitors that come to your Blogger blog.

Blogger stats are located on your Blogger home page under the link "Stats." Click it to see how many visitors Blogger registered to your blog.
If you install more than one stat counter, or compare your stat counter to Blogger stats, the numbers may be different. The information depends on how the stat counter reads and compiles the visitor information.
