How to Ask Your Best Friend to Stop Flirting With Your Boyfriend

Communicating with your best friend will probably make you feel better.

As a woman, you may have wished that your best friend and your boyfriend would hit it off from the moment they met so that you all could have fun together and maintain a cohesive and balanced relationship. However, when your best friend and your boyfriend cross the line and begin flirting in a way that makes you uncomfortable, the relationship you thought you had wanted them to share may become your worst nightmare. Confronting your best friend and your boyfriend about their relationship with one another is often your best option.

Instructions

1. Think carefully about the type of flirting that you feel you're witnessing between your best friend and your boyfriend. Consider how flirtatious your best friend usually is and determine whether or not her behavior is out of the ordinary. Be objective and try not to think with your emotions.

2. Write down everything that you want to say to your best friend a few days before you plan on confronting her about the flirting. Review the things you wrote down a few days later and make sure that they sound rational. You should avoiding sounding too emotional or jealous because this could cause serious tension between all parties.

3. Communicate with your boyfriend about your feelings and let him know about your decision to confront your friend. Speak calmly and rationally and listen carefully to what he has to say about the issue.

4. Invite your friend out for lunch or a coffee. Make sure to let her know ahead of time that you want to talk about something that you feel strongly about so that she doesn't feel tricked when she finds out you want to have a serious conversation.

5. Confront your best friend by sticking to the facts. Be honest about how you're feeling and let her know why her flirting with your boyfriend upsets you. Let her know that you're happy that she has a good relationship with your boyfriend and work together to come up with strategies to build relationships that you can all be comfortable with.
