How to Jog in "Sims 3"
During "The Sims 3" video game, the player is in control of a self-designed character, also referred to as a Sim. Similar to previous editions of "The Sims," it is your job to guide your character through life's daily challenges. You must maintain the health and happiness of your Sim by balancing his professional and personal life. Activities, ranging from cooking to playing instruments, allow your Sim to improve his skills. Jogging is one of these activities. It promotes your Sim's health and therefore improves his quality of life.

Work on your athletic skills. There are five athletic skill levels you can gain during the game; at level one, your Sim can perform basic physical activity, and at level five, your Sim is qualified to teach others how to exercise. To be able to jog, your Sim needs to reach level one.

Engage in physical activity to gradually increase your athletic skill level. Click on the gym and select the "Go here" option from the drop-down list. Click on a weightlifting machine or on the treadmill and select the "workout" option.

Increase your skill level while your Sim is at home by clicking on your stereo system or television. Select the "Workout" option and watch as your Sim engages in aerobic exercise.

Click on your pool, if you've installed one in your yard during the initial setup of the game. Select the "Swim" option and observe your athletic skill level increase gradually as you swim. If you didn't have a pool installed, click on a neighborhood pool and select the "Swim" option as an alternative. Monitor the gauges on the screen that indicate your Sim's overall well-being, because if your Sim is tired and lacking sleep, he may drown while swimming.

Look at your athletic skill indicator. If it shows you've reached level one, click on a location on the screen that you want to go to. Choose the "Jog Here" option and watch your Sim as he jogs to the area you've selected.
