How Can I Change My 2D Dock to a 3D Dock?
With the introduction of Snow Leopard, Apple changed the looked of the Dock from 2D to 3D. The application icons now appear to be sitting on a glass shelf, rather than encased in the Dock. For users that did not enjoy this aesthetic change, a simple Terminal command reverted the Dock to it's pre-10.6 glory. If you wish to revert the Dock back to the Snow Leopard default, another simple Terminal command is required.

Tips & Warnings
If you've moved your Dock to the left or right side of the screen (rather than changed the look with a Terminal command), it will appear 2D. To enable the 3D Dock once more, simply move the Dock to the bottom of the screen again (in the System Preferences).
