How Can I Open an FTMB File?
Family Tree Maker is an application that allows the user to create family tree files to help them to understand their lineage, or ancestry The application creates FTMB files that are backups of Family Tree Maker files that have already been made or are being worked on. If you have an FTMB file, you can open it with your Family Tree Maker software.

Save the file to your desktop because that is the easiest place to find files. Launch your Family Tree Maker application.

Click "File" in the main menu bar and choose "Restore".

Navigate to your desktop, highlight the FTMB file that you saved in Step 1 and click "Open". The file will open in your Family Tree Maker application.
