How to Vertically Seal Between Brick & Vinyl Siding
When you choose to install vinyl siding over a brick surface there are some specific things you need to take into account. For example, if the vinyl siding is not properly sealed, then problems from moisture and excessive air filtration will eventually damage the brick surface, as well as the back of the vinyl siding. The most important seal between brick and vinyl siding will be the vertical area where the two come together once the siding is installed. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Lay the first length of siding over the brick starting at the bottom of the structure. Each additional length of siding will be overlapped over the one beneath it to cover where it is attached to the brick.
-
2
Install concrete screws every few feet along the top nailing strip of the length of vinyl siding to secure it to the brick.

3
Lift the bottom edge of the first length you installed. Apply a bead of caulk along the vertical edge where the vinyl siding meets the brick surface. This will seal the area. Push the siding back in place.
-
4
Install the next length of siding on top of the first. This time, apply the caulk within the bottom edge of that top length of siding you just installed. Pull the edge down using a zip tool and hook it onto the nailing strip of the length of siding below it. This seals the siding vertically. Wipe excess caulk from the zip tool with a wet rag.

5
Continue installing the vinyl siding to the brick and sealing the vertical edge with caulk until all of the brick is covered.
