How to Save a Firefox Profile With a Clean Install of Windows
The Mozilla Firefox Web browser stores all customizations (bookmarks, add-ons, passwords, etc.) on a profile. Multiple users can share the same Firefox installation by creating their own profiles. Like many other utilities, Firefox loses its configuration parameters after being reinstalled. You can create a secure copy of a Firefox profile to restore all your personalization after a clean installation of Windows.

Find the folder corresponding to the Firefox profile you want to save; Windows Explorer will show one folder per existing profile. Create a copy of that folder in a safe location, such as an external drive.

-
5
Click "Start" and then "Computer" to open a Windows Explorer window. Type "C:%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles" into the Windows Explorer address bar and then press "Enter."
-
6
Copy the profile folder from the location where you saved it in Step 3 to the Windows Explorer window showing the contents of "C:%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles." At that point, you will have restored the profile, and it will be available the next time you start Firefox.
