Baldwin Fun Machine Instructions

Baldwin Fun Machine Instructions thumbnail
Many organs from the 1970s could be modulated to produce a number of different sounds.

The Baldwin Company is known primarily for their top-quality pianos, but they also manufacture keyboards and organs as well, including a model from the 1970s known as "The Fun Machine." The Fun Machine uses many elements of an early synthesizer to manipulate the traditional organ sound, as well as several percussion settings, which allow the user to select various different types of beats to play along with.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the Fun Machine into an outlet using the plug in the back and turn the organ on by flipping the switch on the right side of the keys. Now the Fun Machine can be played.

    • 2

Play with the various different modulation features on The Fun Machine. The three knobs that rest between the two sets of keys modulate the attack, delay and pitch for both sets of keys, and additional synth and modulation buttons can be found above the keyboard. The bass pedals at your feet cannot be modulated, but the separate keyboard on the left side of The Fun Machine can be modulated to emulate various different heavy bass sounds.

    • 3

Play the organ as you would a regular piano or synthesizer. The Fun Machine does not have customizable preset options for each specific tone you create, but as long as you leave the various knobs and buttons in the same place, the keyboard will retain the same tone, even after turning off The Fun Machine and turning it back on again.
