How to Glue Glitter to Terra Cotta
A little bit of glitter can enhance and embellish almost any surface and make it look special. Even plant containers made out of terra cotta can get a pretty face-lift with a light sprinkling of glitter. When you use a special adhesive spray to coat the terra cotta first, the glitter will adhere to the terra cotta without any gooey or gluey messes beneath the glitter.

1
Spread the newspaper out in a flat work area. Due to overspray, you will need a flat work space at least 3 to 4 feet in each direction to avoid covering surrounding areas with adhesive spray. Place the terra cotta item in the center of the newspaper.
-
2
Hold the adhesive spray can about 15 inches away from the terra cotta surface. Spray the adhesive onto the terra cotta in a thin and even layer.
-
-
3
Shake the glitter onto the terra cotta where you sprayed the adhesive spray. Continue shaking the glitter onto the terra cotta until you cover it with glitter the way you desire.
-
4
Allow the adhesive to dry completely before moving the terra cotta item. The adhesive will dry within several minutes.
-
5
Check the terra cotta item to see if it looks acceptable. If you wish to apply more glitter, reapply the adhesive spray again and add additional glitter over the adhesive spray.
