How Do I Stop Microsoft From Redirecting to the Download Page From Explorer 6?

While in Internet Explorer 6 (IE6), when you land on a website, it may redirect you to another page when a pop-up window is blocked. The Information Bar close to the top of your browser may also appear with an alert message. It may state that the download or pop-up window could be unsafe. If you trust the website, temporarily allow pop-ups to stop the redirect.

Instructions

1. Launch IE6.

2. Visit a website where you were redirected previously.

3. Select "Tools" from the browser.

4. Select "Pop-Up Blocker."

5. Select "Always Allow Pop-Ups From This Site."

6. Select "Yes."

Tips & Warnings

• Run IE6 with Windows XP, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows 2000, Windows Me and Windows NT 4.0 (the high encryption version of Service Pack 6a and higher) operating systems. If you run IE6 on Windows 7 using XP mode or Windows Vista, it may not run reliably without installing an add-on from a third-party. It is always best practice to run the latest IE-version browser on newer operating systems.
