How to Put on a Bazaar

How to Put on a Bazaar thumbnail
Shoppers can find unique items at a bazaar.

A bazaar, also known as a market, fair or a flea market in some places, is an organized group of vendors that sell various different items in their own designated section of a larger area. A bazaar may be held regularly or as a one day special event. Putting on a bazaar is not hard, but it does take planning and organization.

Instructions

    • 1

Find a space where you will hold the bazaar. You need to be a large enough space to hold all of your vendors and the items they are selling. If you are renting a space, find out exactly how long you get to use it and how much it will cost. That way you will be able to charge your vendors accordingly.

    • 2

Recruit vendors to sell at your bazaar. You may do this by placing an ad in the newspaper or on the internet. Include all your contact information in the ad so that it is easy for people to get in touch with you. Keep track of what vendors have signed up to sell at the bazaar and what they sell.

    • 3

Create a rental agreement and make a copy for each vendor. This should clearly state how much it will cost each vendor to rent a space at your bazaar and what exactly they will be getting for their money. You should also create rules that each vendor will have to follow on selling days so the bazaar is organized and successful. These may include what time the vendor has to set up and take down his shop and the type of advertising he can put up to advertise his items.

    • 4

Have each vendor sign the rental agreement well ahead of the day of the bazaar. This will allow time for them to ask any questions they need to before that day.

    • 5

Create a floor plan of where all the vendor stalls will be. Give a copy to each vendor so they all know where they are going. This will lessen confusion when it comes to the day of selling.

    • 6

Hire a handyman and security guards to be there on the day of the bazaar to help with anything that may go wrong.

Tips & Warnings
