1
Purchase a set of fake, acrylic nails from a beauty supply shop. Have enough nails to display every pattern you want to create for the plate.
-
2
Spread the nails out on a table. Use nail polish to paint each nail with a different design. Include examples of every kind of nail pattern you can paint, like stars, flowers and hearts. Let the nails dry.

3
Spread a thin layer of clear nail polish over each nail to protect against chipping. Let dry.
-
4
Attach each nail to a ceramic plate, using a hot-glue gun. Attach the nails in a circle pattern along the perimeter of the plate, making sure the nails are evenly spaced. Let the glue dry.
-
5
Place the plate in an upright plate holder. A plate holder is an easel-like object that you can find at most home goods stores.
