When you make sculptures and crafts out of polymer clay, the finished pieces can seem plain and uninteresting if you only use one color of clay. One way to make your clay sculpture more vivid and colorful is to marbleize the polymer clay using a few tools that can be purchased from any arts and crafts supply store. This enables you to create a sculpture that is as visually pleasing and vibrant as you had envisioned.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut off three pieces of polymer clay, each measuring 4 oz., and form them into a ball. Select 4 oz. of polymer clay that is a dark shade, 4 oz. that is a medium shade and 4 oz. of a light shade.

Knead the ball of clay together for 20 seconds. This will mix the three colors of polymer clay together slightly.

Roll the clay out using a rolling pin into a sheet that is approximately 3 inches wide and 6 inches long.

    • 4

Thread the short end of the clay sheet through a polymer clay roller, which will press the different colors of clay together into a marbled appearance.
