How to Make Subtitles & Put Them Into the Movie With Autogk
Auto Gordian Knot, or AutoGK, allows easy manipulation of video files for users without a large amount of computer-based knowledge. Users can use the freeware to convert from DVD to AVI, DivX or XviD, and can input AVI, DV, DivX and XviD files. The software contains support for other MPEG2 sources, including HDTV, DVB captures and transport streams. Users can additionally use AutoGK for the inclusion of subtitles to a video file in srt, ssa, sub and vobsub idx/sub formats.

Creating Subtitles

Open any text editor able to create files with the ".srt" extension. Create a new file and encode it with "UTF-8."

Write "1" on the first line of the document. On the second line, type the start and end times of the subtitle using the format "hours:minutes:seconds,milliseconds --> hours:minutes:seconds,milliseconds," for example, "00:02:48,100 --> 00:02:52,300." On the following lines, type the subtitles for this time period.

Leave an empty line and on the next type "2." Repeat the process until you have typed all the subtitles.
Adding Subtitles

Open AutoGK and set the path under "Input file" for the movie to which you want to add subtitles. Hit "CTRL-F8" to view the subtitle load.

Choose your subtitle file in the "External subs" box and select the "Output file" in its corresponding box. Select the "Output size" you wish to use.

Click on the "Start" option. Don't close the window until AutoGK has finished adding your subtitles to the movie.
