How to Play Shift Racing in "Need For Speed"
In the console-based racing video game "Need for Speed," you can choose from dozens of cars to race with and tracks to race around. The game is very open, allowing you to explore many avenues and options during a race. You can choose between automatic shifting or manual shifting. If you want to play shift racing, or manual racing in the game, you can choose to do so before each individual race.

Open "Need for Speed."

Click on "Race."

Scroll through the list and select the race that you want to race in.

Select "Settings" after you have selected the race.

Click on "Manual" and select "Start" when you are ready to start. This will allow you to shift race.
