One disadvantage of a glass top stove is that burner replacement is a little harder than it is on a traditional stove. Replacing a burner on a glass top stove is made easier by following a straightforward procedure.

• Phillips screwdriver

Instructions

1. Unplug the stove's electrical cord or shut off the circuit breaker that supplies it with electrical current.

2. Open the oven door and locate the bracket on each side of the top, just under the lip of the door top. Remove the screws that secure the brackets using a Phillips screwdriver.

3. Lift up the stove top. Push the stove top up until it locks in place or use the metal prop rod if the particular stove has one.

4. Pull out the faulty burner from its receptacle by hand. Plug in the replacement burner and ensure it is secured completely in the receptacle.

5. Lower the stove top down carefully and set it in place. Replace the brackets and tighten the screws by turning them clockwise. Restore power to the stove.
