How to Install a Steam System
Game developer and publisher Valve released the first version of its Steam software in 2003. Steam's primary purpose is to allow users to purchase, download and play Windows and Macintosh computer games. The Steam client must be installed before games can be downloaded and played.

Log into Microsoft Windows using an administrator-level account.

Navigate to the Steam website.

Click the "About" link near the top of the page.

Click the green button labeled "Install Steam Now."

Click "Run" when prompted to run the installer.

Click "Next."

Accept the license agreement, then click "Next."

Select your Internet connection speed, then click "Next."

Choose your language, then click "Next."

Click "Install." Steam will be installed. The process may take several minutes.
