How to Earn Money Online for "Red Dead Redemption"

Collecting money in single player mode is essential for purchasing guns, ammo and other supplies. Although online multiplayer mode incorporates money into gameplay, it serves a different purpose. Since there are no stores from which to purchase supplies, you cannot retain money collected during gang shootouts. The only money that accrues is that which you win in poker hands. In order to play poker, you must own the "Liars and Cheats" add-on, which gives players access to poker and liar's dice minigames.

Instructions

    • 1

Travel to any of the gang hideouts in the game. Open your map and locate an icon that looks like a silhouette of a cowboy hat and bandanna. Use the fast travel function or travel by foot or horse to any of these hideouts.

    • 2

Approach the red dots and open fire on the gang members. You will earn money for each kill. This money is essentially your score for the hideout, and contributes to the XP you gain at the end of each hideout.

    • 3

Clear the hideout to complete the session. When the stats menu pops up, you can check your score to see how much money contributed to your XP gain.

    • 4

Press "Select" to open your satchel menu during free roam. Scroll down to the bottom of the list to select "Poker" or "Liar's Dice." By default, the game provides you with $200 for these mini-games. You must win these games to increase your personal pot of money. You can only use this money to play poker or liar's dice.
