After performing a successful front-to-back stepover, step back over the rope back to front to continue skiing normally.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately challenging

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Perform a successful front-to-back stepover (see related eHow) and ski backward with the rope between your legs.
Step2
Keep your head and torso erect. Try to look at the horizon and not down at the water.
Step3
Hold the rope as low as possible.
Step4
Bounce up, pushing off with your left ski and bending your right leg as you rise up on your bounce.
Step5
Lift your left ski up over the rope when you're at the high point of your bounce and quickly spin 180 degrees to the forward position.
Step6
Grab the rope with both hands and continue skiing.

Tips & Warnings

  • Starting off with a good high bounce and keeping your head lifted are the crucial elements of this trick. Arch your back to keep your head up.
  • Hold the rope as low as you can to make it easier to lift your ski up and over.
  • Remember your vertical crouch as you return to a forward position.
  • Always wear a life vest when waterskiing.
  • Perform this trick only under the supervision of an experienced trick skier and skilled boat driver.
  • Waterskiing is an inherently dangerous activity that can result in serious injury or death. We recommend that you seek proper training and equipment before attempting this activity.
