How to Create a New AIM iChat Account

Creating an iChat account allows you to video chat with friends.

Apple iChat is an online chatting tool you can use to text, instant message, audio chat and video chat with friends and relatives anywhere in the world. Of course, your friends and relatives must have iChat on their computers as well. One of the biggest benefits of iChat is the price; it's free. There is no text messaging charges or long distance charges. The entire chat is done over your internet connection. Creating an iChat account with your current AIM account is easy.

Instructions

1. Find the iChat link in the applications folder on your computer and click on it to open a new page with instructions. Follow each page of the instructions by clicking on the "Get an iChat Account" link to sign up. Create a username and password to begin using iChat.

2. Submit your request for an iChat account and wait while your computer creates the account for you, syncing it with your AIM account -- you provided this information when following the step-by-step instructions during the account creation process.

3. View your AIM/iChat account when it appears. All of your AIM contacts will appear on your iChat account so you can see who is available to chat. Begin chatting with available people or press the green call button to initiate a video chat.
