How to Change Weapons in "Assassin's Creed 2"

Save

Ezio Auditore, the main protagonist of the action-adventure game "Assassin's Creed II," can be equipped with a wide variety of weapons on his body while traveling throughout Italy. Weapons can be wielded in one of two ways: either by using the weapon selector HUD, or by assigning a weapon to one of four quick inventory slots.

Using the Weapon Selector HUD

  • Press and hold the weapon selector button. On the PS3, the weapon selector is the "R2" button. On the Xbox 360, press and hold the "Right Bumper." The weapon selector HUD will appear.

  • Select a weapon using the "Left Control Stick." The highlighted weapon icon is the currently selected weapon.

  • Release the weapon selector button to close the HUD and equip the highlighted weapon.

Using the Quick Inventory

  • Press and hold the weapon selector button ("R2" on PS3, "Right Bumper" on Xbox 360).

  • Select a weapon using the "Left Control Stick."

  • Press one of the four directional pad buttons to assign the currently selected weapon to that quick inventory slot.

  • Release the weapon selector button.

  • Press the directional pad button that you used in step 3 to equip the assigned weapon. If you press the directional pad button again, you will sheathe or holster the weapon. You can re-assign a new weapon at any time by repeating steps 1 to 4 and selecting a new weapon from the HUD.

Tips & Warnings

  • Non-weapon actions, such as the coin toss and medicine, can also be assigned to quick inventory slots.
