How to Keep Apples From Turning Brown in a Ziploc Bag
When oxygen in the air meets the exposed flesh of a sliced apple, the fruit's flesh will become brown. While there's nothing dangerous about eating brown apples, the dark color makes apples look unappealing. If you've got leftover slices you want to save, stashing them in a zippered storage bag alone won't keep the fruit from darkening. Place the apple slices inside a zippered bag.

Pour in 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and close the bag, zippering it shut.

Shake the closed bag a few times to coat the fruit with the juice. Store the fruit in a refrigerator until you are ready to serve.

Once apples have browned you can't reverse the oxidation.
