How to Troubleshoot the Weber Genesis
Weber is a manufacturer of charcoal and gas grills, including the Genesis series. The Genesis series consists of gas grills with many different models made since the early 1990s. When your Genesis grill is giving you problems it can be difficult to diagnose the problem if you do not know how to troubleshoot it. While there are many different models in the Genesis series, the troubleshooting process will be generally the same regardless of the model. Does this Spark an idea?

Inspect the burner and see if it does not turn on. If the burner does not turn on, check the propane tank to see if it is low or empty. If the tank is low or empty refill the tank and check again. Check the fuel hose, if the fuel hose is bent then straighten it.

Inspect the igniter button. Turn on the grill with matches to ensure it's the igniter that is giving you problems and not a fuel source problem. Check the wires leading to the igniter to make sure they are properly inserted in the terminals. Verify the battery is in good condition and installed correctly for Genesis grills that use a battery.

Check the burners. Are you experiencing erratic flame pattern form your burners? If you are then you must clean the burners.

Inspect the color of the flame. Is the flame coming out of the burner yellow or orange? Check for spider or insect screens. Remove the burners and clean them if you notice any spider or insect screens on the burners.
