      Thread a sewing needle with heavyweight thread, then knot the end.

      Hold one of the buttons over a sheet of card stock, and poke the sewing needle through each of the holes. Do the same for each button you are making stitching templates for.

      Sew the buttons onto the card stock with the threaded needle as you would on fabric, using the pre-poked holes.
