How to Remove an Encrypted Channel on a Samsung TV

For faster channel browsing, your Samsung TV gives you the option to use the Auto Program feature to scan for and memorize available channels. Sometimes, however, the TV picks up a signal for a channel that has poor reception, or a channel that you don't want. Also, sometimes a TV provider changes the signal and encrypts it. In these cases, access the Channel menu with your remote and delete the unwanted channel.

  • Press the "Menu" key on your remote control.

  • Press the down arrow button on your remote until you reach "Channel" in the main menu. Press "Enter."

  • Press the down arrow button in the Channel menu to navigate to "Channel List." Press "Enter."

  • Press the left arrow button to highlight "Added Channels," then press the down arrow to highlight "All Channels." Press "Enter."

  • Scroll through the channels with the down arrow button until you locate the channel you want to remove.

  • Press the "Tools" button on the remote control. A popup menu appears on your TV screen.

  • Select "Delete," if it isn't already, and press "Enter."

  • Press "Exit" on your remote to return to your regular TV programming.
