1
Measure the height of your pre-made railing with a tape measure. Most railings will measure either 36 or 42 inches. Pick the location on your deck for the railing and mark that location with a pencil. Measure the length of the railing and mark that distance on the deck also. This will be the location of the two 4-by-4 posts.
-
2
Pre-drill a hole through the center of each 4-by-4 with a power drill and a 1/2-inch bit. Drill the same hole through the decking at each pencil mark. Set the first 4-by-4 down over the hole and slide a carriage bolt through the bottom of the deck and into the 4-by-4. Tighten it until the 4-by-4 is secure to the deck. Repeat the process for the other 4-by-4.

3
Slide a bottom Azek mounting bracket over each 4-by-4 post and slide the Azek post sleeves over top of the posts and into the bracket on the deck. Screw them into place with the provided screws in your railing system.
-
4
Position the railing on the inside of each post and slide a provided L-bracket underneath the top railing and up against the post. Screw the bracket to the post and railing with the provided screws. Repeat the process for the bottom section of the railing and for the post on the other side.
-
5
Grip the railing and verify that it is secure and stable. Install any remaining railings in the same manner.
