How to Cite Sources for an Image in Dreamweaver
There's nothing like images to grab Internet viewers' attention to your Web page and the Adobe Dreamweaver software makes inserting images onto a website a matter of a couple of clicks. When you want to cite your image sources, giving credit to the artists who created those pictures, Dreamweaver facilitates that process as well. Citing sources in Dreamweaver is possible through options directly on the Web page like a caption or through more hidden pop-up alternative text.

1
Open Dreamweaver. Review the "Open a Recent Item" column on the splash screen. If the page with the image to cite is listed, click the link. Otherwise, click the "Open..." link, browse to the page and double-click it to open it on the Dreamweaver work area.
-
2
Click the image to highlight it. Review the "Property Inspector" at the bottom of the Dreamweaver workspace. If the pane is not open, click to open it. Check the "Src" box, which already has the source file of the image linked.

3
Click into the "Alt" box next to the "Src" box. This box may be blank. Type the image source information, such as the photographer or designer's name and the copyright date. This information will appear as "alternate" text for screen readers and pops up when a viewer hovers a cursor over the picture.
-
4
Click the cursor to the right of the picture and press the "Enter" key. This drops you to a new line on the Dreamweaver page below the picture.
-
5
Type the source citation text, such as the image's proper name, where the picture was taken, what type of camera or software program created the image and any other information to include in the citation.
