How to Take Baffles Out of a Suzuki
Motorcycle exhaust baffles limit noise emission. Removing the baffles from a Suzuki is not difficult. In most cases, the job takes a matter of minutes from start to finish. However, not all Suzuki motorcycles have removable baffles. Newer road bikes and dirt bikes have tuned exhaust systems with integrated noise-suppression baffles. If your motorcycle has small bolts on sides or inside the end of the tailpipe, then the exhaust has removable baffles. You can take the baffles out of a Suzuki using common hand tools.
Instructions

1
Park the motorcycle on its kickstand or center stand. Allow the exhaust pipe to cool completely.
-
2
Remove the small bolts at the tailpipe cap with a metric socket and ratchet. Save the bolts and pull the cap off by hand. If necessary, twist the cap with both hands to free it from the pipe, and set the cap aside. Skip this step if the exhaust does not have a tailpipe cap.

3
Locate the baffle bolts on the sides of the tailpipe or inside the end of the pipe. Remove the bolts with the socket and ratchet, or an Allen wrench and save the bolts.
-
4
Extract the baffle from inside of the tailpipe with needle-nose pliers. If the baffle has a crossbar at the outer end, grip the bar with the pliers and twist as you pull the baffle out. Otherwise, grip the outer rim of the baffle with the plies and work it out of the pipe. Save the baffle because the bike may not be street legal without it.
-
5
Reattach the baffle bolts in the sides of the tailpipe to eliminate exhaust from escaping through the holes. It's not necessary to reattach bolts inside the end of the pipe. Reattach the tailpipe cap with the saved bolts. Tighten the bolts securely with the socket and ratchet.
