How to Do Masked Redirect
Companies who sell the products you promote on your site give you an affiliate link with a unique ID. This link redirects people from your site to the site of the company selling the product, and the link's unique ID gives the companies the ability to track who referred a customer. Masking a redirect is helpful to hide your affiliate ID, which is displayed on the bottom bar of your web browser when people hover the mouse over the link. You can mask your redirect affiliate link by adding an HTML code to your website.

1
Open the website administrator tool or HTML editor you use to program your site.
-
2
Create a new page for your website by clicking the "New Page" tab. Give a name to the page. For instance, if your domain name is "www.myownaffiliatesite.com" name the new page after the name of the product you are selling so it's displayed like this: "www.myownaffiliatesite.com/nameproductyousell."

3
Highlight the HTML code below with your mouse (exclude quotations), right-click the highlighted HTML code and click "Copy."
"<meta HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" content="0; URL=http://www.yourdomain.com/index.html">"
-
4
Paste the HTML code in the "Code" section of the new page you created. Paste the code by pressing "Ctrl" and "V" simultaneously. Add the affiliate link you want to mask to the section of the code that says "http://www.yourdomain.com/index.html." Save the changes by clicking "Save."
-
5
Use the URL of the new page you created to mask the desired affiliate link. Now instead of adding your affiliate link when wanting to redirect people to the site selling the products you promote, add the URL of the new page you created (www.myownaffiliatesite.com/nameproductyousell). When people click on hyperlinks containing this URL they will be redirected to the affiliate URL you added; however, your affiliate URL will be masked behind the your new page's URL.
