How Do You Open an .Itl File?
Your iTunes library files are saved in the .itl file format on your computer. This file generally loads without any user intervention, but you may need to access it through iTunes due to a corrupt library. Once the .itl file is loaded in to iTunes, you can see all of the content associated with that particular collection in your iTunes library screen.

Click "Start," and "All Programs."

Hold down your "Shift" key, then click "iTunes," and "iTunes" again.

Click the "Choose Library" option on the menu which pops up. Use the Windows Explorer window to go to the location of the .itl file, then click "Open." Once you open the library file, the new library populates your iTunes collection.
