How to Configure Remote Print for a BlackBerry
Remote Print is an application for the BlackBerry that is available through BlackBerry App World. The Remote Print application allows the user to send a print job from the BlackBerry to a computer, and then print the job on a printer connected to the computer. To configure Remote Print, first start the Remote Print server on the PC, and then establish a wireless connection to the print server on the PC from the BlackBerry device.

Start the Print Server on the PC

Open Windows Explorer by right-clicking on the Windows "Start" button and selecting "Open Explorer."

Navigate to the following path.
C:\Program Files\CCApps\Remote Print\

Right-click on the "RemotePrint.exe" file and then click "Run As Administrator" to start the server on the PC. If you don't run the program in administrator mode, a server error will result. Note the IP address of the computer and the port number of the Remote Print server when the RemotePrint.exe starts.
Configure the BlackBerry

Press or tap the "Menu" button on the BlackBerry to show the Home screen. Scroll to and highlight the "Remote Print" icon. Tap or press the trackpad. The Remote Print window opens.

Scroll to and highlight the "Change/Add Printer" option. Tap or press the trackpad. The Connections window opens.

Type the IP address of the computer and the port number noted when starting the Remote Print server on the computer.

Type a name for the connection in the "Nickname" field.

Scroll to and select the "Test Connection" option. Tap or press the trackpad. If the connection is made, a notification will appear stating "Server Found! Printer Set To: <printer name>" where <printer name> is the default printer set on the PC. The connection saves on the BlackBerry.

Tips & Warnings
If the test connection fails, check the Windows Firewall settings on the computer. Try temporarily disabling the firewall and re-attempting the connection. If the test connection occurs while the firewall is disabled, add the print server port number as an exception to the firewall settings.
