How to Fold E-Sized Drafting Papers

E-sized drafting paper is one of the American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) sizes for module paper. Size E paper, which measures 34 by 44 inches, is the largest of all drawing papers and is typically used for architecture sketches, blueprints, graphic layouts and artwork. All ANSI drafting papers are folded the same way so that the paper can be easily placed into a standard folder or file with the title of the work facing outward for quick referencing.

  • Position the drawing face out on the paper and fold the paper in half width-wise.

  • Fold the paper in half twice more width-wise. Make sure that the title piece remains outward during the folds.

  • Fold the paper length-wise once, exposing the title at the top. The drawing should now be 8 1/2 by 11 inches.
