How to Shift Footnotes to the Next Page in Word 2007

Microsoft Word 2007 lets you create footnotes on as many of the pages as you like for each document you create. The Word 2007 "References" ribbon contains the Footnote group, which offers access to the "Insert Footnote" and "Insert Endnote" buttons. Since you can choose the page on which your footnote displays, you can easily shift it to the next page -- or any other page you like -- in your Word 2007 document.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the Windows "Start" button and type "Microsoft word" in the search box. Press "Enter" to open Word 2007.

    • 2

Click the "Office" button, select "Open" and choose the file you want to edit. Once inside the file, scroll to the page on which you want the footnote to display.

    • 3

Click the "References" ribbon. Click "Insert Footnote." A number displays next to the chosen sentence and the footnote is added to the bottom of the current page.

    • 4

Type the footnote you want to display. Right click the footnote and select "Note options" from the pop-up menu. Click the arrow up button next to the "Start At" text box once, which moves the footnote to the next page.
