How to Upload Pictures From a Kindle Fire Onto a Computer

You can save photos taken on your Kindle to share or preserve.

You can take photos and record videos with the built-in camera on your Kindle Fire. The photos and videos are stored in your Kindle's photo library as well as your Amazon Cloud Drive. To load photos from your Kindle onto your computer, either upload them by connecting the device to your computer using a USB cable, download them to your computer from your Cloud Drive without a physical connection, provided you have Internet access.

1 Transferring Photos via USB

2 Connect your Kindle Fire

Connect your Kindle Fire to your computer using the USB cable that came with the device.

3 Computer

Type "computer" on the Start screen and select "Computer." Double-click "Kindle" under Portable Devices.

4 Click the Pictures

Double-click "Internal Storage" and then double-click the "Pictures" folder.

5 Select the pictures you want

Select the pictures you want. Drag or copy and paste them to the desired location on your computer.

7 Go to the Amazon Cloud Drive website

Go to the Amazon Cloud Drive website (see Resources) and log in to the Amazon account associated with your Kindle Fire.

8 Click on the Pictures folder

Click on the "Pictures" folder and then click the "Kindle Photos" folder.

9 Select the check boxes

Select the check boxes of the pictures you want to download and click the "Download" button. Choose where you want to save the photos and click "Save."

  • If your photos do not automatically upload to your Cloud Drive, swipe from the left edge of the screen, tap "Settings" and then tap "On" next to Automatic Uploads.
