How to Catch Chickoreta on Pokemon
In the "Pokemon" video games, Chikorita is a small, green creature with a single leaf sprouting from its head. Although Chikorita is a docile creature, it can defend itself with attacks such as Razor Leaf and Poison Powder. In the "Gold," "Silver," HeartGold" and "SoulSilver" versions of the game, you can obtain Chikorita as a starter Pokemon. In "Emerald," you will receive the Grass-type Pokemon after you complete the Pokedex. In "XD: Gale of Darkness," Chikorita is a prize for completing the gauntlet of rival trainers on Mt. Battle.

Begin a new game file.

Enter your name and gender during the introduction scene. The game will begin in your house.

Walk downstairs and talk to your mom. She will tell you to visit Professor Elm's laboratory

Go west to Professor Elm's laboratory.

Talk to Professor Elm. He will allow you to choose one of three starter Pokémon.

Collect all the entries in your Hoenn Pokedex. You will need to capture the 200 species of Pokemon in the Hoenn region.

Visit Professor Birch's laboratory in Littleroot Town.

Talk to Professor Birch. He will allow you to choose a Johto starter Pokemon.

Choose Chikorita.

Travel to Mt. Battle in northern Orre.

Defeat the 100 trainers throughout Mt. Battle's ten areas. Their Pokemon range from levels nine to 70, so bring a team of your best creatures. At the top of the mountain, Battlus, the leader of Mt. Battle, will offer you a prize.

Claim Chikorita as your prize.

Tips & Warnings
Through each method, you can choose Cyndaquil, a Fire-type Pokemon, or Totodile, a Water-type Pokemon, instead of Chikorita.
At level 16, Chikorita evolves into Bayleef. At level 32, Bayleef evolves into Meganium.
