How to Make Tri-Fold Folders
Instead of spending money on a costly project folder, use tag board to create your own presentation tri-fold folder. This project is best for folders designed for abnormal-sized papers so the papers don't fall out of pockets that are too big for the pages. You can create a template to trace in the future or to make a folder. Reuse the folders for work or school projects.

Measure the tag board to extend 8 inches past the bottom of the sheet of paper by using the paper you wish to house in the folder as a sizing guide.

Cut horizontally to fit the tag board to the size of the folder.

Measure the width of the tag board to fit the paper three times plus an extra 4 inches for bending room.

Measure 6 inches from the bottom and mark the folder. Fold the bottom of the tag board up to the 6-inch mark to create the pocket.

Fold the tagboard in thirds horizontally. Staple on the folds to hold the pocket in place.
