How to Get the Robot That Talks to You in AIM
AOL Instant Messenger users will typically respond to you only after they have received your message and taken time to formulate a response. If an AIM user responds instantly, the chances of that user being human are low. Thousands of so-called "AIM robots" exist in cyberspace and to chat with one, all you need do is add the robot's screen name to your buddy list and begin conversing.

Sign in to your AIM account. Click the "+/-" menu below the buddy list and select the "Add Buddy" option.

Type in the screen name of any AIM robot and click "Add." Popular robots include Moviefone, which gives you information on movies showing in your area, and Smarterchild, which offers you a combination of relevant and irrelevant information intended primarily for entertainment.

Double-click the name of the robot when it appears in your buddy list. Type a message to the robot and read its instant response, which usually relates to the message you sent it.
