Sheet metal can be used for various types of home projects. 1
Set your sandblaster to the appropriate psi, or pounds per square inch. For exterior sheet metal that will be seen at the completion of your project, do not use more than 80 psi. Interior sheet metal can handle a higher setting.
-
2
Move the sandblaster slowly back and forth across the sheet metal. Do not settle on one area for more than a second for now.

3
Focus the sandblasting on areas of the sheet metal that need to be cleaned or that have rust damage. Ignore other areas to prevent stretching of the metal.
-
4
Look over your work. If you can still see dirt or rust, sandblast that area again for a second or two to remove it.
