How to Use a Ka-Bar TDI
The Ka-Bar TDI knife was originally designed for use by police officers and armed citizens that are in a weapon retention situation or faced with potential lethal force from an attacker. The standard TDI knife weighs less than a quarter pound and measures 5 5/8 inches in length. The hollow-ground fixed blade has a 15 degree edge that lines up with bones of the lower arm, which adds to the blade's thrusting power. The original model is a drop point straight-edged knife but Ka-Bar has expanded the line of TDI knives to include tanto points and optional serrated edges.

Tips & Warnings
Practice crawling, rolling and jumping with the sheath on your belt to make sure that it stays securely in place. Punch the blade out from your body repeatedly if you are in extreme danger and if the Ka-Bar TDI is your only weapon. Twist the blade after thrusting the knife down to the bone and pump the handle up and down repeatedly to end altercations as quickly as possible. These techniques ensure thrust delivery through heavy clothing.
Practice these movements with an unloaded firearm. Only perform these actions in life endangering situations or if you are in danger of being disarmed by an armed attacker.
