How to Get an SPC Code From a Cricket Phone

Save

The service programming code (SPC) is a lock code that prevents you from accessing the programming menu on a CDMA phone. A CDMA phone actually has two SPC codes, a default code for one-time use, and a permanent code called the master subsidy lock (MSL). Both codes are six digits long. The default SPC allows a representative to program the phone the first time without having to look up the code. Once the default SPC is used, the phone switches over to the MSL.

  • Input the default SPC. In most cases, the default is 111111 or 333333.

  • Dial 611 from your phone, or call (800) 274-2538 from a landline phone to contact Cricket's customer service.

  • Select the option to speak with the technical support department.

  • Validate your account with the technical support representative. You may need the last four digits of your Social Security Number, or the ZIP code on the billing address.

  • Advise the representative that you need help with programming the phone manually. The representative will give you the code as part of the programming instructions.
