How to Make Knots With Cord
Cords come in a variety of materials such as plastic, rubber or cloth. A cord can be treated as any string, wire or rope due to its similar shape. For that reason, you can make knots with a cord as you could with those materials. Knots are fairly quick and simple to make, and have many uses. You can use knots to secure objects together, create craft projects such as macrame, or prevent a cord from fraying.
Instructions

Square Knot
-
1
Hold one piece of cord in one hand and another in your remaining hand.
-
2
Make a cross with the two cords. Place the cord in your left hand over the cord in your right hand.
-
-
3
Wrap the top around the bottom cord so that the top cord is pointed toward the right and the bottom cord is pointed toward the left.
-
4
Repeat the previous step with the two cords, creating a loose square shape with a twist in the cords on the top and bottom of the square.
-
5
Tighten the knot. Pull the ends of the cord.

6
Loop the end of a cord back over itself, leaving enough of the loose end of the cord to create another loop of equal size, at least. This will create a circle or oval at the end of the cord.
-
7
Wrap the shorter loose end of the cord around the backside of the longer end of the cord, below the loop you created in the previous step.
-
8
Pull the shorter loose end through the loop you created in the first step, from the front to the back.
-
9
Pull both ends of the cord with both hands to tighten the knot.
