How to Uninstall Defender Pro Without the CD

Anti-virus programs can cause errors on your computer.

The Defender Pro software protects your computer from viruses, spyware, adware and intrusions from hackers. Uninstall the Defender Pro program before you upgrade to a newer version of the software, if you are installing a new antivirus application, or if the program is creating errors on your computer. You do not need the Defender Pro software CD to safely remove the program, as Windows includes a removal tool to help your manage the software.

Instructions

1. Right-click the "Defender Pro" icon in the lower-right of the Windows task bar. Click "Exit" to stop the program from running. This will allow you to uninstall the program without any problems.

2. Click "Start," then click "Control Panel." Click the "Programs" icon under the "Programs and Features" heading.

3. Click the "Defender Pro" entries in the list, then click "Uninstall." Click "Yes" in the warning message that appears to begin the uninstall.

4. Restart your computer once the removal is complete to save the changes to your settings and permanently remove Defender Pro.
