How to Be a Prince for Halloween
A prince costume is one that does not need to follow stringent rules. In fact, you can have a room full of people dressed like princes, and each person may look completely different. Most prince costumes consist of a black and white, blue and white, red and white or purple and gold color scheme. Regardless of the color scheme you choose, there are a few elements that cannot be overlooked if you want to put together a truly authentic-looking prince costume for Halloween or a party.

1
Wear a pair of black dress pants. But for a more authentic look, opt for a pair of knee-length pantaloons or tights.
-
2
Find a top that complements your pants. A tucked-in ruffled white dress shirt works well with pantaloons and black dress pants. A long regal-looking tunic looks appropriate with tights.
-
-
3
Tie a cape around your neck, or wear a buttoned-up, formal fitted jacket. But don't wear both, or it'll look like too much.
-
4
Shine a pair of black dress shoes to wear with your costume, or purchase a pair of knee-high boots from a costume store. Black dress shoes go well with black dress pants, as well as knee-length pantaloons or tights when paired with knee-high white socks. If you prefer the knee-high boots look, wear them with tights or black dress pants tucked into the top.

5
Wear a wide black or gold belt around your waist. If you are wearing a fitted jacket or tunic, the belt should be worn over the jacket or tunic at the waistline.
-
6
Place a crown on your head. Any type of crown works, but if you are buying one with jewels in it, look for ones that match the color scheme of your costume.
