How to Change Someone's Face Using GIMP

Use GIMP to give these kids and their dog funny faces.

If you are creating invitations to a party, greeting cards or similar items, you might want to include a humorous photo on the cover. One way to do this is to take a photo of yourself or someone else and change it to give the face distorted and exaggerated features. The freeware graphics program has the tools you need to make these kinds of changes. The process for doing this in GIMP is both simple and quick.

Instructions

1. Load the photo with the face that you want to change onto your computer.

2. Start GIMP. Select "File" from the menu and choose "Open." In the dialog, go to and open the photo you loaded.

3. Go to the menu at the top and choose "Filters." Click "Distorts" and from the options choose "IWarp." In the dialog that opens, set the "Deform Radius" to be the same size or smaller than the part you want to change, such as the nose.

4. Use the tool to move the feature where you want it. Or switch to the "Grow" and "Shrink" functions to change the size of features. Click "OK" and save your work.
