How to Close a Broken Zipper

A broken zipper makes it difficult for you to wear a garment, especially if it's a pair of jeans. Try the following methods for zipping up that broken zipper. In a few seconds, these household items can mend that zipper temporarily.

Things You'll Need

• Hairspray
• Cooking oil
• Cotton swabs
• Bar of soap

Instructions

1. Spray the zipper a few times with hairspray. Pull up on the zipper to close it.

2. Dip a cotton swab into a bottle of cooking oil. Apply the cooking oil to the zipper carefully. Do not stain your clothing with the oil. Pull up on the zipper to close it.

3. Rub a bar of soap up and down the zipper. Attempt to close your zipper.
