How Can I Record a Video on Someone's Wall on Facebook?

Facebook allows you to communicate with your friends in a variety of ways. You can post on their Wall or send a private message similar to an email. If you do not want to write to someone, you can record a video and post in on his Facebook Wall. This feature is convenient if you do not have the time to type out a long message or you want to show your friend something instead of merely describing it.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer with webcam
  • Navigate to your friend's Facebook page. Once on the page, click "Wall" below the profile photo if you did not automatically land on the Wall.

  • Locate the "Share" section at the top of the Wall. Click on the "Video" link. Your webcam will be activated, and you should see yourself on the screen.

  • Click "Allow," if asked, to give Facebook permission to access your webcam and microphone.

  • Click the red button at the bottom of the video window to begin recording.

  • Click the "Stop" button at the bottom of the window when you're finished recording.

  • Click "Play" to watch your recording. To re-record the video, click "Reset."

  • Type a message to accompany the video into the "Say Something About This Video" field below the video window.

  • Click "Share" to post the video on your friend's Wall.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remember that you must be friends on Facebook with someone to be able to post to her Wall.
