How to Weave a Rope Rug
When you decorate your home, you can make a room appear more updated and fresh by covering over unsightly flooring with woven rugs. Natural rope rugs can make a room look naturalized and can be purchased at any home decorating store. However, natural rugs can also be made by hand using a few basic hardware supplies. This allows you to save money while adding rope rugs into your home to decorate in a beautiful and natural way.

1
Cut three pieces of thin hemp rope using pruning shears to measure 96 inches long each.
-
2
Weave the three pieces of rope together into one long braid. Tie both ends of the braid using hemp twine. This will secure the braid in place.
-
-
3
Lay the woven braid flat onto the floor, and wind it into a tight spiral.
-
4
Sew the spiral together using nylon thread and an embroidery needle. Begin stitching the seams of the woven braid together at the center of the spiral and sew all of the seams around the entire spiral until you reach the outside edge.
-
5
Tuck the end of the woven braid underneath the rug and sew it in place with the nylon thread. Trim off any excess thread before using the woven rope rug.
