A basic basket can be transformed with some creativity.

If you have a friend or family member who is an armadillo lover, make him an armadillo-themed basket. This basket can be the base for a gift basket, which you fill with treats of the gift recipient's liking. Making this sort of craft at home requires just a few basic materials and tools. Plus, the homemade version costs less than purchasing a similar item from a specialty store.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a line along the belly of an armadillo stuffed animal. Pull the stuffing out of the belly and cut away the fabric making up the belly, so you have an empty basin.

    • 2

Place a small wicker basket inside the belly of the armadillo, so the sides of the armadillo body wrap around the basket and the basket's handle sprouts out of the stomach of the stuffed animal.

    • 3

Place a line of craft glue along the outer perimeter of the basket's upper edge. Tuck the fabric of the armadillo's belly, up to the glue edge, and hold in place until the glue dries so the basket and stuffed animal are securely stuck together.

    • 4

Tie a piece of gray ribbon, to match the armadillo, around the handle of the basket in a bow.

    • 5

Fill the basket with whatever treats and toys you'd like to give as part of the gift basket.
