Adorn a twisty bun with flowers for a romantic updo.

Give a new twist to a classic style -- literally -- by making a twisty bun. This sleek updo is ideal for ballet dancers, prom-goers and brides, making it a versatile style you can pull off yourself. The longer your hair, the more times you can twist your twisty bun. Pull down curls around your temples and ears for a wispy, romantic look, or slick back the front for a more professional chignon. Adorn a twisty bun with flowers or a sparkly hair clasp for added drama. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Part your hair on the side you prefer and pull the hair back from your forehead to the crown of your head.

    • 2

Roll the section of hair you are holding in on itself as tight as you can. Pull the rolled section around the back of your head, on the same side as your part.

    • 3

Secure all your hair, including the twist, into a low side ponytail with a hair band.

    • 4

Twist your hair into a regular bun around the elastic and pull a section of loose hair through the bun. Pin the bun, minus the loose hair, in place with bobby pins, hiding the pins under the bun.

    • 5

Twist the loose hair sticking out of the middle of the bun. Wrap the twist around the bun and secure it with more bobby pins.

    • 6

Spray your head with a light mist of hairspray to help hold your hair in place.
