You can sew beads to a handmade headdress.

A beaded headdress could be the perfect accessory for a formal or casual wedding dress. The beaded headdress could be further embellished with an elegant net veil of a variety of lengths. Instructions

    • 1

Bend the wire into an oval shape that is approximately 6 inches long and 4 inches wide. Cut the excess wire off with the nippers.

    • 2

Use the wire form as a guide to cut out a piece of satin that is 1 inch wider and longer than the oval.

    • 3

Place the satin right-side-down on an ironing board and cover it with the wire form, matching the edges. Cover the wire with the hemming tape and press the excess satin over the tape, securing it by pressing the iron over the fabric for 20 seconds.

    • 4

Bend the wire to fit on the top of your head, using your head as a guide.

    • 5

Thread the beading needle with 36 inches of beading thread. Cover the edges of the satin cap with the beads, sewing them to the satin. Continue moving from the outside edges to the center of the cap, covering the entire satin with beads.

Tips & Warnings

  • Attach the beaded headdress to your hair with bobby pins.
